Hi! I’m Emily Halpern.

I'm a French Culinary Institute-trained pastry chef and public historian turned baker and brand designer.

My path here hasn’t been cookie-cutter: I’ve earned a Grand Diplôme in Pastry Arts, two MAs (one in Food Culture and Communications from the University of Gastronomic Sciences, another in Cultural Memory from the University of London), cooked at Chez Panisse, worked at Saveur and Food & Wine, helmed the launch of an online Italian specialty food store, and taught immigrant history at NYC's Tenement Museum.

Culture and heritage—the flavors, rituals, and stories passed down through generations—helps us remember who we are and where we come from.

In a world that's increasingly homogenized and divided, these traditions offer a way for us to find each other, connect over what we share, and create new memories together. That’s why I’ve spent years exploring how heritage and craft live in food—through research, through baking, and through brand design for the individuals and businesses preserving these traditions.

“Everything Emily touches turns to gold. I don’t know who else has such good taste and ability to create such beautiful everything. She’s one of the most multitalented, creative, and caring people I know.”
